How to Install Your Vinyl Decal

Installing a vinyl decal is easier than it looks. Just go slow, keep everything clean, and do not rush the placement.

What You Need:

Decal • Microfiber cloth/paper towel • Rubbing alcohol or soap & water (no window cleaner) • Squeegee/card • Knife/scissors

Steps

1. Clean Surface

Wipe the area thoroughly and let it dry completely. No dust, grease, or moisture.

2. Prep the Decal

Press firmly over the transfer tape to ensure the vinyl sticks to it.

3. Position + Hinge

Place the decal where you want it and tape across the top edge to hold it in place.

4. Peel Backing

Lift from the bottom and slowly remove the backing paper. If vinyl lifts, press it back down and retry.

5. Apply Decal

Lower it slowly and use a card/squeegee to press it down in one direction, pushing out air as you go.

6. Firm Pressure

Go over the entire decal, especially edges and small details.

7. Remove Transfer Tape

Peel back slowly at a 45° angle. If anything lifts, press it down and continue.

8. Finish

Smooth out bubbles (most disappear over time). Let the decal sit before touching or washing.

Trimming Instructions (If Required)

Some decals are oversized or designed to be trimmed for a perfect fit.

• Before Applying:

  • Hold the decal up to your surface and check fit

  • Use scissors to rough-trim excess material if needed

• After Applying (Best for Precision):

  • Apply the decal fully first

  • Use a sharp knife to carefully trim along edges (window seals, panels, etc.)

  • Cut lightly—just enough to go through vinyl, not the surface underneath

Pro Tip:

Always trim slowly and in small sections. Clean, controlled cuts = professional results.
